Jennifer Anderson Honored with Touching Lives Award
At Blessings in a Backpack Frederick Chapter, we often talk about the power of consistency. Every week during the school year, thousands of children across Frederick County count on weekend food from Blessings…and making that happen takes an incredible amount of coordination, care, and commitment behind the scenes! Jennifer Anderson, our Program & Operations Coordinator, is at the heart of that work.
We are thrilled to celebrate Jen as a 2026 recipient of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit Alliance’s Touching Lives Award. The award recognizes the frontline and administrative nonprofit professionals whose outstanding commitment strengthens their organizations and touches the lives of others.
If you’ve volunteered, attended a packing event, or partnered with Blessings in a Backpack Frederick Chapter, chances are you’ve seen Jen in action. She coordinates the countless details that help ensure weekend food reaches 3,400 children in 32 schools each week during the school year, from working with school partners and volunteers to managing food logistics and keeping our operations moving.
It is work that requires flexibility, problem-solving, and a deep commitment to the children and families we serve. And Jen approaches it all with a steady hand and an incredible knowledge of Blessings and our mission.
Much of nonprofit work happens outside the spotlight. The Touching Lives Award was created to celebrate the people at the heart of Frederick County nonprofits whose daily work sustains their organizations and strengthens our community. We can’t think of a better way to describe the impact Jen has on Blessings.
We are incredibly grateful for everything Jen does for our organization, our volunteers, our partners, and, most importantly, the children who count on Blessings for hunger-free weekends.
Congratulations, Jen, on this well-deserved recognition. We’re lucky to have you on the Blessings team.
